Long weekend fun at the cabin!

We had a great family day at the cabin on Sunday!! We had hoped to stay the night but it was just too hot for the girls so we headed down for for bedtime and the girls slept till after 7:00 this morning. They were so tired from our fun filled day! They kept Nana, Dad and Mom very busy while they explored the whole cabin and we tried to keep them out of trouble...not too easy these days :)

They are water lovers so they had lots of fun in the pool and we kept the hose running with a tube that shot water up in the air beside them!

They kept trying to get the sprinkles in their mouths but would end up with a face full of really cold water!

Fun in the HOT sun

Dave made it home this weekend after all (YAY) as the strike has been temporarily averted. We took the girls to the park up the street when Dave was done work, and had a great time. They both love the swings and enjoyed having their feet dipped in the waterpark puddles. They even loved just sitting on our beach towels and watching all the kids run and play. The towels are great for now, as they still don't like the feel of the grass, so it keeps them contained much to Kiley's dismay. She kept trying to crawl off the side but that darn grass was there every time!

Dad relaxing too (imagine that :)

After dinner the girls had a quick swim before bed (this time with warm water in the pool-thank goodness) They had such a good time splashing around and they really loved the slide but had a tough time taking turns...I guess they better get used to that!!

Visitors from Holland!

The girls and I had a great visit with Willy's cousin's, Math and Sana, from Holland. The girls were a little unsure at first but had a great time. They really loved the toys they brought but in the end had the most fun playing with the cardboard boxes I think :) They just liked to laugh at Math with them on his head!! Sydney did a really good job of copying him but Kiley still was playing shy. Dave also had a nice visit with Math and Sana that evening, when he got home from Langley, up at the cabin. We all enjoyed their visit and hope to see them again one day!

But once the boxes are in play even Kiley came around!

Time Flies

It seems like just last week we were wondering if they would ever crawl and now they are both crawling at mach speed, climbing stairs and pulling themselves up on things. Sydney is so steady on her feet, she can stand now and even walk holding onto us. Kiley is not as steady but way more determined! She walks like such a ballerina with her toes pointed, it is so cute! After a few head clunks though we had to put some gates up since going back down the stairs is bit more complicated. They are certainly not happy about being locked in though! When we do let them climb the stairs and crawl around the dining room they are so excited and love to chase poor Kiera.

FREE-DOM!! Sydney on a mission

TRAPPED!

The girls bought Dad a new bike trailer for Father's Day so we can go for family rides. They are not too sure what to think yet....

But after one lap and a snack break-all is good

Sydney in the princess tent we had for a day, until I realized it would always end up on it's side trapping someone underneath! It was too bad because Kiley loved it-well the pushing it over part anyways :)

The girls can now reach the dish towels from the towel rack in the kitchen and love to "steal" them and crawl with them on their head. Sometimes their faces are even covered and they bang into the table. Crazy girls!

How great to have help with the chores now...

It's Officially official...

Kiley can crawl now too! After taking 2 crawls forward for Nan a few weeks ago she hadn't done much more than that since, but today she crawled across the living room and was on a roll! So exciting...I think I may lose that extra weight now chasing 2 of them around here :) She is so happy with herself as she had been working so hard at it! Yay Kiley!!

Sydney not wanting to be outdone decided to crawl up the stair in the living room today to have a visit with Kiera. I came back from changing Kiley to find her up on the stair. She has been trying that for quite awhile and was working at it all morning. It was so cute to see her gently petting Kiera's leg. Time for more gates though I think, some areas have to be safe so they can be left alone for 5 seconds!

Busy Busy

We just got home from a 9 day visit in Vernon and had such a great time. We had lots of fun celebrating my niece Devyn's first birthday on Saturday. So hard to believe she is one already and the girls will be soon too! Unfortunately only Kiley and I made it to the party as Sydney was home sick with Dad but we partied for everyone :) At least we had celebrated her and Jarett's birthday as a family earlier in the week which was great! We also had good visits with Sheila, Faye, Lori and Ashlyn, the Embleton clan and Mom had a lovely visit (by herself-yay) with Alison so we fit a lot in to our short time. We stayed at Jeff and Sofie's beautiful new home while they were away in Denmark and can't thank them enough for letting us stay!! We wanted to stay longer but with Dad having to be in Langley and us all being sick it was time to go home and we are happy to be in our own place again. We just wish everyone lived next door!

Kiley and Devyn celebrating...where's the cake??

Dad helping Sydney jump on Alex and Nic's trampoline. She had a blast as you can tell!

Alex took this picture of Kiley and I and did I mention he's only 4?!

We always enjoy spending time at Chris and Julie's in their beautiful backyard!

The girls Great Auntie Kath bought them each a laundry basket when they were born(full of goodies at the time of course :) and the girls love to play with them-especially the ribbons on the handles!

Kiley says can't I get any peace and quiet??

Kiley reading a very good book-out of Sydney's reach-finally a safe place!
