Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

The girls got their first taste of snow-literally! All bundled up with nowhere to go. The girls sported their new snow suits and hopped in their newly converted "ski-wagon" last week enjoying Kamloops' first real snowfall.

Like Neil Armstrong on the moon, here is Sydney taking her first steps in the snow.

I do not know if it is because of the snow suits or the new boots but Kiley looks like she is trying to walk on the moon here too.

Where has November gone??

We cannot believe how fast November has gone although we are so looking forward to Christmas this year! The girls are talking up a storm and more importantly we can understand them more often! They are definitely on the run everyday now and keep us laughing at their distinct personalities and sense of humour. Sydney loves to give kisses and Kiley loves to psych her out by pretending to want a kiss and then backs away at the last second! What a meanie :) but she does it to us too...we are lucky if we get a real kiss cause she usually just gives cheek! Sydney loves to make funny little sounds now and it cracks us up which she thinks is hilarious. They both bring us so much joy, when they're not driving us crazy that is!

So much fun to ride on the vacuum!

They love to wear their hats in the house but always take them off when we are outside-go figure....

Full of mischief!

Kiley pushing her stuffed puffin in the doll stroller and Sydney coming around the corner behind her! They will push anything that moves around the house. Dining room chairs, highchairs, laundry baskets but the Fisher Price toy garage station is their favorite for sure! It makes the loudest sounds scratching up our floors no doubt!

Always happy (well almost always :)

Having a seat on her bus.

Playing outside in the cold. Wish I had an outfit like that to keep warm in!

When Trees Fall - The work is just beginning!

After a summer of wind storms and some concern about the dead trees threatening our cabin and the neighbors, Steve arranged to have a professional take down some of the precarious trees around the cabin property. Five trees in total came down with ease as the pro and his crane had it done in 3 hours. This is where the work began for us though. We now have enough wood for a couple of years....with Grandpa's help, it took a few days to clean up and move the wood around.

Here is Grandpa with the trusty splitter and the beginning of his pile of wood. This is about half way in our 4 hours of splitting wood. Working with the timbers brought back some thoughts of when he used to work rolling logs for cutting - back in the day. You wood never know this man's age by the way he split this wood!

Here is a 10th of the logs that the trusty quad dragged around from the top of the property. The new wood shelter will certainly come in handy.

Thank goodness for the splitter. 4 Hours - $65.00 - best damn money I have spent! I think I actually may be able to walk the next day versus cutting by hand.

It wouldn't be right to not have a "fire shot" with Grandpa. It snowed almost 5cm during the day. Winter is here! Time to break out the new winter toy! It is also time to pick up the girls some "mini-z" snowmobiles to match Dad's new one!

Growing Up Way Too Fast!!!!

Sydney and Kiley are now 16 months! Their personalities are shining through and already they have Dad wrapped around their fingers....

Here is Sydney sporting one of Mom's old hats (and some drool :).

Both girls are running around and talking Alien! A couple of words are starting to shine through. The girls are saying Mom, Dad, Nan, UP (Sydney's favorite), woof (Kiley's favorite), hat, and sometimes they repeat other words but just generally babble nonstop. They are forever blowing our minds with what they can comprehend already.

Kiley putting in some KM's on her bike.

Happy Halloween!

Sydney and Kiley's 2nd Halloween was a jungle of fun. We broke out the makeup and dressed the gals up as Giraffes. Way too cute!

Kiley

Sydney

We went to the Sahali Mall where we saw thousands of ghosts, goblins and superheros. Our girls fit in just fine with their Giraffe Ark - (AKA - Dad pulling girls in wagon).

It is certainly tough to keep the Giraffe heads on 16 month old toddlers...

And Off to Nan's for Food, Candy and Fun.

Caged in at Nan's!

Enjoying the beautiful fall weather

Dave and the girls at The Run For The Cure in Kamloops.

Kiley running free at the park by our house!

The girls wish the water was turned on I am sure...imagining the whole place to themselves!

Mom doing lots of cheering.

Of course they have to go underneath where we can't reach them...so smart!

Kiley determined to get up to the top somehow!

Sydney so intent on finding the perfect leaf downtown at Riverside park.

Kiley dragging Mom around.

Dad taking the girls for a spin in the bike trailer.

Cruising to the duck pond in the wagon

Life is grand...or so I hope they are thinking :)

Crazy, Crazy girls!

Sydney and Kiley sure are being adventurous lately! From climbing on the couch, on their toys, opening every drawer, cupboard and even standing on their little bikes...enough to stress a Mom out!!

I am sure there is a name for this move but I don't want to know!

Look out Dad and Uncle Steve...these two are trying to outdo you :)
.

Even first thing in the morning!

By the way I am yelling at them to "sit on their bums" as I am snapping away!

Thanksgiving part two..lucky us!!

We were lucky to have a wonderful turkey dinner again on Monday night at Willy and Gerry's. Even after much toddler-proofing the girls still managed to get into anything and everything they could find! The good news is that Nana and Grandpa don't mind it one bit :) We had a great visit with everyone and Sydney and Kiley had a blast.

Playing around downstairs, in the playroom Nana and Grandpa made just for us!

You can't catch me...

Can't hide from the camera Branden-GOTCHA!

We also celebrated Michelle's birthday-Happy Birthday Michelle!!

The grandkids

Branden, Kiley, Megan and Sydney

Now the kids with their Opa...Kiley was sooo done with the pictures and ready for bed!

Thanksgiving weekend

We had a great visit with the Hildee-Camps in Vernon this weekend. We had a chance to watch each of the boys hockey games, visit, go to the park and just relax together. We wish we could do it more often!

It was so fun to get all the girls together this weekend. Wendy and I had unknowingly purchased the same jackets for the girls so they all wore them at the park Sunday and caused a few triple takes from passerbys!

Devyn making a run for it as usual-busy girl! (I can hear Wendy now saying "just you wait")

Jare, Uncle Dave, Sydney and Kiley

Kiley pulling Dad around the park

Our Family outing (minus Jarett who rode ahead and Jayden who left us early to go to a friend's house)

We also had a fabulous dinner at Bob and Inez's house Sunday night. Sydney and Kiley got into everything they could reach and loved to explore the house and play with Emilia's toys. The girls always enjoy just watching the big kids and Kiley had fun kissing Carla and Jon's puppies through the screen door. Besides a few bumps on the head for our little Kiley, it was a perfect evening and so great for us all to see everyone.

The girls had a blast trying on beads and Kiley loved the feel of them on her neck. She walked around all night shrugging her shoulders just so she could feel them. Neither of them would take the beads off so therefore it caused some tripping since they hung to the floor (especially on Kiley).

Kiley looking so pretty

Moments before distaster struck, unfortunately the first of many for Kiley that night....Don't trust that Inez Kiley :)
(I should mention that I started to take the picture before she was tipping and put the camera down and ran when I saw it about to happen but somehow-thanks to a slow camera-I got it on film)

LOVING their Jarett!!
.

Both Jarett and Jayden are so good to our girls

Jayden-still can't believe he is in high school this year!! Time does fly by...
.

All the kids on my side of the family!
