Dave's Heading to the Big House!

"THE BIG HOUSE"
a.k.a. "THE PINK PALACE"

Here I go.... After 8 transfers, 5 houses, and many promotions, I have been given the tremendous opportunity to leave the branch and join Head Office. I will now be working out of the "Pink Palace" (Our head office building was once painted pink and has never shedded the nic name). I will be joining a small group of "people people" at the grass roots of the new people focus for my company. Technically, working under the Human Resource department, my new title is "Regional People Specialist". It is going to be a big change moving out of the retail branch environment but I am very excited to take my passion for people management and move to the next level.

More pictures

Kiley just before bed tonight. She loves to lie in their crib and watch her mobile. She smiles and coos at it and gets really mad if you take her out before she's ready!

Sydney in her crib tonight. She was full of laughs-so cute except that it was time for bed!

The girls in their cute sweaters that Nan bought them. Sydney was not a happy camper that day!

Oops we forgot...

We forgot to put the girls updated height and weight from their last doctors appointment on Sept 13! The girls were 10 weeks old then. Here are the stats:

Kiley 22" long and 9Ib 10oz

Sydney 23.5" long and 11Ibs 9oz

Sydney is growing in leaps and bounds. She is in the 90th percentile for height and weight and that is for a singleton so for a twin she is off the charts :) We are very happy about that! Kiley is growing a little slower but steady as can be. She is in the 25th percentile which is still great for a twin especially. She has been suffering from acid reflux though which causes her to spit up a lot and not want to eat much, because her tummy gets upset easily, so that is part of why she is still smaller. We have medication for her now which seems to be helping. She will probably surprise us all and overtake Sydney down the road. She is certainly feisty enough!

Quick updates Sept 25

We have been going for a big walk almost every evening before bedtime to get the girls some fresh air and a look at some new surroundings. To keep it interesting we sometimes put one of the girls in the Baby Bjorn carrier. They seem to like it a lot but it is hard on Mom and Dad's back so we take turns.

Sydney in her car seat. Not lovin her hat!

Kiley in the Bjorn.

Sept 11 in White Rock

Dave and I took the girls for a walk along the beach in White Rock on a beautiful sunny day a few weeks ago. We can't wait until they are old enough to run along the beach and pick up shells but when that happens we will probably miss the days we could contain them in a stroller!

September updates

Kiley (above) and Sydney (below) all cozied up after their baths.

Nan and Sydney at the cabin.

The girls just hanging out. They are so different in every way. Makes it even funner to watch them develop their individual looks and personalities!

September Holidays

Dave had holidays the first week of September so we headed up to the interior, our usual holiday destination. We had a quick visit in Vernon with everyone we could possibly see, in the time we had, but even a short visit is worth every minute! We realize now how little time we have and how poor we are at planning ways to use it! We are trying to get better and I am sure we will with practice. We spent our first few days in Vernon then we headed up to the cabin for 2 days and had a great visit with Nan, Grandpa and Opa. Unfortunately our time was shorter than we planned as Dave had to be back unexpectedly on the weekend. We can't wait to be back to visit soon. The girls are proving to be good travelers so far (thank goodness since it seems like we are always on the go).

Dad spending time with his girls.

Catching some shut eye with Sydney.

and with Kiley too!

Sydney looking up to her big cousin Jarett.

Sydney-her shirt says it all!

Kiley looking very relaxed in her pretty blue outfit from Nan. It matches her beautiful blue eyes!

Our first restaurant venture Aug 27th

Grandpa, Nan and us took a risk and went to Boston Pizza for lunch to hear all about the family trip to Newfoundland (we could not go this year as the girls were too small!). Nan and Donna walked the girls around the block while Grandpa and Dave ordered up the lunch. When we got back we kept that stroller rockin and the girls stayed sound asleep so we really enjoyed our lunch.
