Life is rough when you'ra a baby..

Sydney and Kiley got super cute new bath towels from their Auntie Wendy and Uncle Dale but unfortunately the girls are not yet fond of the bathing process! Even with the new towels. Hopefully that will change soon!

Sydney-screaming mad at dirt as Dad calls it.

Girls just wanna have fun...

The girls are getting bigger and more alert every day! They are both liking their swing now and Mom and Dad like the few minutes of freedom too-time to get another one!

Sydney in the swing (she likes it-honestly :)

They are both loving their Gymini playmat too. Sydney discovered herself in the mirror and was quite fascinated with herself. Kiley just likes to listen to the music. She especially loves Mozart-hmmm wonder what that means?? Maybe she will be a natural musician like her Opa.

A visit from Nan Aug 11/07

Nan and Kiley

Nan came down to have a quick visit with the girls and to help us out for a day. As always we had a great visit. We took the girls for a long walk around the neighborhood and Nan had lots of very special cuddle time with both girls. It always goes too fast though so we look very forward to the next visit and we know Nan can't wait either!

A quick visit in Vernon Aug 30th 2007

We had a quick visit in Vernon on Monday night but had to be back in Langley to take the girls to the doctor on Wednesday so we didn't get to stay long unfortunately. We called Bob & Inez and Jeff & Sofie at the last minute and they managed to come by and meet the girls even though it was short notice! Bob and Inez took no time getting the girls settled right into their laps and Sydney and Kiley were more than happy to stay there.

Emilia was not too happy about Uma and Grandpa holding the new babies so she found other things to do!

The boys stayed busy in the pool when they weren't helping to hold and feed the girls. They are lucky girls to have such great cousins!

Twin Growth Update August 1st 2007

Sydney and Kiley

The Girls are growing FAST! The exponential weight gain has even surprised our Doctor, both girls are doing great!

We saw Dr. Delair for Sydney and Kiley's one month check up.

Sydney is now 8lbs 3oz (after weighing 6lbs 8oz at birth)

Kiley is now 6lbs 15oz (after weighing 5lbs 5oz at birth)

Both girls are sleeping about 3 hours at a time once during the night and usually once during the day now, otherwise it is about 2 hours a time still. So 3 hours feels like 8 did before! Donna is doing the night feedings which allow me to sleep. I have been trying to do the morning feeding to give her a break although I have not been very successful at keeping Donna in bed since the crying girls always wake her up. We are trying to be disciplined at keeping the girls on the same schedule. Sleeping, feeding, changing and bathing.

They are starting to wake each other up with KungFu moves, sucker punches (like above) and loud screams. We have had to seperate them into thier own portable cribs for sleeping because they are now too heavy to be together. It will not be long at this rate before they are driving.

Holidays - Road trip with the twins July 26th-31st

Finally, a blog update!

We have come to realize time is not as abundant as it used to be. It has been a challenge to find time to do some of the most basic things as the girls have kept us busy. They are slowly training Donna and I. We imagine we'll have it figured out in about 20 years.

Here is a quick update from our trip to the interior.

Fun in the Sun! The girls first cabin experience

With Sydney and Kiley 3 weeks old, we ventured to the interior. We spent 4 days at the cabin, away from housework and the big city to relax with our girls.

(Believe it or not, I even got in a quick water-ski)

The girls travelled well. We stopped outside of Kamloops for a quick meal (the girls) and change and then continued on. (3.5 hours was max)

We had an excellent relaxing couple of days at the cabin. It was great to have some visits from family and friends as we hung out with the girls.

It was very special to see Aunt Kathy and Aunt Trudie again as they were back in Kamloops after a quick trip to see us in Langley (picture below) and to visit Vancouver Island.

Tom, Michelle and family stopped in for a couple of hours. It was great to swap some twin stories as Carter, Paige and McKenna played.

Dale, Wendy and Devyn came up for a visit Saturday which was lots of fun, we just wish the boys could have come too!

Steve, Michelle, Branden and Megan joined us for a couple of the evenings and of course Mom, Dad and Grandpa. Dad celebrating the beginning of his retirement.

Once again, another trip to the interior solidifying our desire to move back close to family and friends.
