Merry Christmas

We had a fabulous Christmas this year. The girls are a way too young to know what was going on but loved seeing family and being spoiled rotten. They got lots of cuddle time in with Auntie Michelle, Nana, Grandpa, Opa and Auntie Wendy and had a great time watching all their cousins opening their presents. Next year will be even better. We hope to have Christmas at our new house in Kamloops and have both our families together. Our niece Devyn is 1 month older so the girls will have a blast opening presents and playing together. We hope they will be good at sharing too by then! We are so excited to not have to cram the van full and travel next year like we did all this week. If anyone needs any advice on cramming a uhaul's worth of stuff into a minivan-Dave is your man!!

In case I didn't make it clear before

It is official-the girls DO NOT like peas! We used up the rest of the jar and Sydney, although she made many faces, got through hers but Kiley did not do as well. Kiley apparently suffers from the "Creed gag reflex problem". She was hilarious to watch. She was gagging and choking and plain old pushing the peas out with her tongue. What an ordeal. Now I know how my parents felt and how Wendy feels as Jayden has the same problem! I can't say that I blame her though so we are moving on from peas today! I do think it proves though (help me with this Jayden) that we are born with it and it can't be helped?!? I did make her still eat the peas but I am pretty sure that none of it actually stayed down!

What a face.....

but still cute as ever!

Oh how hard it is to share!

Actually I wanted that one Kiley!

Fine don't share with me

They even want the same toys on the playmat now, it is so funny to watch them. The orange sun is their favorite so they take turns on that side of the mat but always reach over the other one to get it anyways.

Ewwwwww

Kiley and Sydney tried peas for the first time and our friend Barb captured their not so happy faces on camera. We thought that we had better start with peas since once they discover that there are much better foods out there they won't be wanting peas again! They made faces but at least they kept on eating, they must be Daddy's girls!

More food please...

The girls are starting to get the hang of eating, well sorta. They are at least interested in it which is the main thing right?!?. Sydney is now staring at everything we put to our mouth to eat or drink, it makes you feel really guilty for not sharing! Kiley is definitely catching on quicker and grunts for more if you take to long to reload her spoon between bites.

Ready for food Mom and Dad!

Sydney wide eyed as usual and wearing her food too.

And they say it doesn't snow in Langley

Wow we are getting hit with some snow!! The roads all around us are closed so it is a good thing we don't need any diapers or formula cause we won't be going anywhere for awhile. This city shuts down with a quarter of this amount of snow so you can imagine the chaos going on around us. It is beautiful though. Dave was like a little kid this morning-until the shovelling began!

With the addition of Dave's new Prius for work, we have 4 vehicles
now. It is a good thing that the Cutlass is in Kamloops for now to make room!

Snowfalls and Santa

An exciting weekend for our girls! They got to see their first big snowfall and we even went to see SANTA!! The girls were okay for a few minutes until Sydney pulled his beard and was trying to eat a piece of his hair. Then Kiley finally turned around and saw who was holding her and it was all over. We were lucky to get this shot-the photographer works fast (I think she has been getting lots of practice).

I think we saw them sneak Santa their list.....uh oh

Getting Bigger

We forgot to post the girls "stats" after their last doctors appointment on Nov 22. So here they are:

Sydney 15lbs 12oz and 26" long

Kiley 13lbs 7oz and 23.75" long

Our doctor was once again impressed by their growth and was the big meanie giving them their 4 mth shots. He is always joking around with us and giving the girls lots of cuddles and sweet talk when we are there. We will be very sad to have to leave him and find a new doctor in Kamloops but hopefully we will have a good one there too.

Playin around as usual

If Only I could....

Our girls, cute as buttons. It must seem from the blog that they are always in their crib but they're really not it's just a good photo op when they are!

Kiley is smitten with her hands lately and spends lots of time staring at them and slowing moving them towards her mouth. She loses focus when they are almost in and misses her mouth completely sometimes then looks at me like where'd they go?? What did you do with that cool toy?

Oh wait a sec, here they are again!

Now if only I could put that back in......

Dad and Sydney after our walk. Nice and cozy and really cute too! Kiley was still sleeping in the stroller.

First day in the new highchairs

Today the girls tried out their new highchairs. They seemed to like them so far. They were happy to be able to sit upright and be high enough up to look around and see what's going on. They also had their first taste of rice cereal. Kiley was more fond of it than Sydney who just pushed most of it back out after keeping it in the front of her mouth for a few minutes. We have video of it all that we will post soon!

My Aunt and Uncle, cousins and their families all came over today for visit. It is crazy that we have been in Langley for so long now and hardly get together! We really enjoyed finally having the chance to have everyone over. Just in time for us to be moving away unfortunately!! Of course we never got any pictures so I guess we will have to do it again before we leave!

The girls getting bundled up for our walk tonight in brand new cozy winter snugglies from their Great Auntie Bev and Great Uncle Bruce. They had to wear bibs though since the rice cereal was still making it's way back out! Sydney just enjoyed the fact she could suck on the hands and Kiley wasn't sure how to feel about it all. I just wish they made these for adults....

Ready to go. It was a beautiful night here but still pretty chilly. We had to go for a walk and grab our Starbucks while we still have it down the street cause for those of you who don't know yet-we are moving to Kamloops-Yay!!! We have sold our house in Langley and bought in Kamloops already so we will be moving on Jan 8th. We are so excited to be closer to our families.

Back Home again

We just arrived back in Langley and wanted to post a few more pictures from last week while we were in Kamloops. We took lots of great pictures this time! The girls are sure going to miss the fun they had with Nana and Grandpa and so will we!

Sydney and her Grandpa. They spent lots of quality time together while we were there. Sydney loved to talk Grandpa's ear off and Grandpa is sure a good listener!

Nan spent every moment possible with the girls, cuddling, chatting, laughing, jumping and pretty much anything else they wanted to do. They are going to have a tough adjustment back to everyday life with Mom-no time for so much one on one at home unfortunately. I guess we just have to go back soon!

Kiley after a busy day-tuckered right out!

Sydney wasn't far behind her-we no sooner got Kiley up and Sydney was out like a light!

Sydney sucking on her hand. It never leaves her mouth now and she can get almost the whole fist in!

Sydney in her and Kiley's new favorite spot at Grandpa and Nan's house. Looking out the window at the beautiful view and watching the dogs in the yard.

Visiting Kamloops Nov 9-16th

We are in Kamloops right now where Dave is working this week and the girls and I are having a wonderful visit with Nana and Grandpa. We also all had a great dinner and visit with Uncle Steve, Auntie Michelle and Branden on Sunday night (Megan was at a party) so the girls got extra cuddle time in with Auntie Michelle, they are so spoiled! We are really getting used to being here and having homemade dinner every night, crib tournaments and lots of help with the girls so I don't think we want to go home again anytime soon!

Nana and Kiley in Kiley's new favorite position to be held, well actually the only one she "allows" us to hold her in most of the time!

Kiley in the Bumbo chair

Kiley gets the first turn in the new exersaucer.....

Then Sydney gets her chance to drool all over it next!

The girls grabbing at each other as usual. I am sure this is only the beginning!

More Pictures....

Sydney is loving her Bumbo chair now and lying down just isn't for her anymore! Being carried would be her number one choice of course, but if that can't happen she'll settle for sitting upright whenever possible. She is drooling like crazy now so it can be very messy. Poor Kiley doesn't want to sit in the chair when Sydney's done! Kiley isn't liking the Bumbo as much cause she is too busy trying to roll over now any chance she gets. She can get up on one side and grunts and groans but hasn't figured out how to go all the way over yet.

It doesn't help her to roll over with all that stuff in the way!
